Survey reporting screen
Now that you've sent out a survey you need to see the responses!
Viewing Results
To see the responses to your survey go to your Survey list under Create & Send and you will see a results button on the right hand side of the record.
Here you will see the results of the questions you've asked. There will be different views depending on the type of question asked, however they all come with multiple options. For example, in my survey, I asked participants to give me a rating out of 10. By default the result to this type of question is a gauge.
You can see in the top left corner of this result there is a drop down box. With this I can change the result to a bullet format.
I won't go trough all of the different result options that this screen could show, but I will show you some of the most common ones. If you have a a question where the answer is a free text box where the participant can enter whatever they want as a response, then the results will show as a word cloud by default. This way you can see the most common words that are being fed back to you, with the transitional words omitted (the, it, and, etc). If you hover your mouse over one of the words, you'll see how many times that word has been used.
You can also change this to simply display the results as text in a table.
The other style of result I'll show you relates to tick box, drop down or ranking type questions. The results will be presented to you in a bar graph with the answers listed in the order that they're listed in the question, however you can change the graph to be in ascending/descending order. You can also change this graph to be a pie, doughnut or scatter graph.
You will have noticed in the green arrows in the top right corner of each question. This is so you can drag the questions around this screen and view them in whichever order you want to. This can be useful if you're presenting results to someone and you know they're going to be more interested in some questions more than others.
Additionally, if you need to present the results, an option you have for the image based results, like the gauges and charts, you can download a PNG of that result. To do this simply click on the camera icon.
Doing this makes the image a little neater than taking a screen shot as you then don't have the drop down box or move arrow in the corners.
Exporting Results
At the top of the results screen you will see two options, Graph View and Table View. When you come into this screen you're on Graph View by default. If you swap over to the table view you'll see your results in a grid format. To begin with NewZapp will show your first 5 results, but you can change this with a drop down in the top right corner to show up to 100 results per page.
Like with the Graph View there are green move arrows at the top of each column so you can rearrange the columns, however you need to. You are also able to hide columns with a little eye arrow at the top of each column. This then reveals a dropdown box where you can unhide those columns again.
In the top left corner there is a Search bar. If you want to see how many people responded to your survey with a particular answer, type that answer in here and the screen will filter out any results that don't have that answer for any of the questions.
If you need to share all of your results with a colleague who doesn't have access to NewZapp, you can do that from this screen too. Simply click the Excel or CSV button in the top left corner depending on what file type you require.
When you export the results you will always get every response to your surveys, regardless of what you might have put in the search bar beforehand, however any columns that you have hidden will remain hidden on the export.
