Why have I got less new contacts than expected after uploading a list?

Lets say you have a contact list of 100 contacts and you upload it into NewZapp, however the number of contacts in the group you've added these contacts to has only gone up by 50. What's happened?

When you import a list of contacts, NewZapp will compare that list to the list of contacts you already have. If a contact appears on both lists then they won't be included.

Essentially, NewZapp checks for duplicates during the import process and won't make a duplicate contact record.

But what if someone in the list you've uploaded isn't showing as as subscriber after the import process has happened? Has that person unsubscribed? If the individual has previously unsubscribed, not only will a duplicate contact record not be created, but the pre existing record won't be re subscribed.

This is to protect you from a GDPR stand point. If someone who had previously unsubscribed wants to resubscribe, make sure you get that in writing, and then you can manually resubscribe them in the Contact Card.
