Attaching a Calendar Invite to an email

Adding a calendar invite to an email ensures that your recipients never miss an important meeting, or event. Whether you're scheduling a business meeting, or a webinar including a calendar invitation makes it easy for attendees to save the event directly to their schedules. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to attach calendar invites to your emails, so you can keep everyone informed and organized with minimal effort.

Creating the Calendar Invite in Outlook

Before you can attach the calendar invite you need to create it! Go to the calendar in Outlook and create the event the normal way you would, however we need to get hold of the invite file. If you click File and Save as then you'll be able to save the iCalendar File.

Adding the invite to NewZapp

Now that you have the invite file saved on your computer you'll need to add it to NewZapp. Once you're logged in, go to Create & Send and you'll see a Manage Documents button in the top right. Open this and click the big Browse section in the middle of the screen, then find and select your calendar invite from where you've saved it.

Once the calendar invite has been uploaded you'll get a green message confirming that.

Attaching the invite in an email

So now that the invite is in NewZapp how do you go about attaching that to an email? Well the same way we attach any document saved in NewZapp. To begin with you need to have an email with a link in it, whether that be a hyperlink, a button or an image. 

Select that link and then on the left hand side, select "Link to Document, Campaign, Landing Page or Survey"

This will then open up the document manager. Select the calendar invite from the list at the bottom of the screen and the invite will now be attached to your email!
